HARLOW Council has been encouraging people to pick after their dogs as part of National Poop Scoop Week (June 23 to 29).
The council and police have been working on a joint campaign to give dog owners advice by handing out information and providing dog poo bags.
Hot spot areas for dog fouling are also being targeted by officers.
The campaign comes to the Water Gardens tomorrow (Friday, June 27) from 12.30pm to 2pm with Pete the dog, council officers and police community support officers handing out information.
Research out by ENCAMS, which runs the Keep Britain Tidy Group, regarding public attitude towards litter and refuse consistently shows that dog fouling is at the top of the list with regard to the level of concern and offence caused.
