Spurs could use Berbatov to land Eto'o

TOTTENHAM are considering offering wantaway striker Dimitar Berbatov to Barcelona in exchange for Cameroon international Samuel Eto'o.
White Hart Lane chiefs are believed to have met with Barcelona officials in Spain last week and further talks are planned for next week, according to the London Evening Standard.
Spurs are resigned to losing Berbatov in the summer, and Ramos is known to be a keen admirer of the three-time African Player of the Year.
The move would prove to be popular amongst Spurs' fans, as Eto'o is rated as one of the most prolific goalscorers in Europe and one of a handful capable of replacing Berbatov. And with the Lilywhites unwilling to match Barcelona's £27million valuation, a swap deal could prove the most viable option, as the Catalan giants are thought to be interested in the Bulgarian forward.
Eto'o, 27, has confessed to friends that he is tempted by a move to England and is keen to work with Ramos. And if the swap deal was to go ahead, Spurs would be willing to match Eto'o's likely £100,000- a-week wage demands.
