Holland keeper looks set to snub Spurs
Maarten Stekelenburg
Maarten Stekelenburg

SPURS look to have missed out on transfer target Maarten Stekelenburg.

The Ajax keeper has been just one of the names put in the frame to succeed current stopper Paul Robinson in the summer.

But the 25-year-old Stekelenburg, who has made ten appearances for the Netherlands seems reluctant to quit the Amsterdam ArenA.

It had been reported that the former Zandvoort '75 and VV Schoten youth would be following team-mate Johnny Heitinga in looking for a fresh challenge in Europe.

But according to Dutch paper Algemeen Dagblad, while defender Heitinga has agreed a Bosman move to Atletico Madrid, Stekelenburg has decided remain with Ajax, despite the strong interest from Tottenham since the turn of the year.
