HARLOW: Headteacher welcomes £23 million school move

THE head teacher of Passmores School has welcomed the county council's decision to go ahead with the relocation of the school to the Brays Grove site.

Brays Grove will close later this year because of falling pupil numbers with Passmores to relocate to the site in a £23 million project.

Passmores School head teacher Vic Goddard told the Citizen: "I'm delighted that the process is finally finished and we can now plan for what the new school will look like. I'm very excited about the new opportunities that it will present to the young people of Passmores School.

He added: "It's good from an education point of view that we are going to get "23m of investment into Passmores School."

Mr Goddard said there had been a "vociferous minority" against the move but said he had stressed to everyone the vocational and educational benefits that the move would bring.

He added: "I held a parents forum to discuss the relocation and eight parents turned up - some of who were for and some were against."
