Gamble wins his K1 debut in style

KICKBOXING

HARLOW-based kickboxer Ricky Gamble made his K1 debut fight against the experienced Leeds based Gavin Ungi last week, securing a unanimous win for the North Weald Kaisho Kickboxing Club.

The dedicated 24-year-old (pictured) defeated his more experienced and considerably heavier opponent, over three two-minute rounds of full contact fighting.

And that in front of a huge crowd that included many club members and friends who had made the journey to Circus Tavern, Purfleet.

Gamble's superior speed and accuracy saw his opponent hit the canvas in the first round from a flurry of well-placed blows to the head.

The Leeds fighter came back strong in the second round making the fight well matched.

During the final round, Kaisho fighter shone with unbeatable combinations of knees and kicks giving Ricky a unanimous win.

Gamble has been training with Kaisho for four years under the instruction of club owner Sensei Henry Woolhead.

Club representative Rob Carman said: "This was an outstanding result for Ricky's first fight which showed his hard work and dedication to the sport.

"This form of full contact Kickboxing is open to all levels, beginners to advanced.

"The club offers a friendly open door policy, which is great for those wishing to either learn an effective form of self defence or to those who want to step into the ring and compete."

Kaisho also offers Mixed Martial Arts (MMA).
