Spurs linked with Argentine international

MEDIA reports have linked Spurs with much travelled Argentine midfielder Mario Santana.

The 26-year-old, who is currently plying his trade with Fiorentina, has previously enjoyed spells with San Lorenzo, Venezia, Palermo and Chievo Verona.

Santana has made seven appearances for his country, scoring one goal in the process, although has made just 14 appearances at Stadio Artemio Franchi since moving there in 2006.

If Spurs do sign the midfielder they are unlikely to face any work permit problems, as Santana is now regarded as an Italian national after marrying an Italian women at the start of the year.
