M11: Police identify crash victim

POLICE have identified a man who was seriously injured when his car crashed off the northbound M11 early this morning.

The man was trapped in his silver Y-reg Renault Megane car after it left the road and crashed down an embankment.

Police made a media appeal to identify the driver as he had no identification on him.

The man, who is being treated at Addenbrookes Hospital, Cambridge, was this afternoon identified as a 31-year-old man from the Bishop's Stortford area.

Anyone who saw the incident is asked to contact Essex Police.
